Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A query entered in a search box is delivered directly to the outside provider that operates the tool. That company processes the terms and supplies its results. Lake County Court Docket does not retain or log the name, case number, or other query on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. Messages remain within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the server to receive basic technical and usage details:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Small files called cookies help measure how visitors move through the website, including which pages receive traffic and where visits end. Analytics services combine that activity into broader reports. A browser can block cookies, though disabling them may change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a search request to the selected provider
- Maintain availability, speed, and security
- Identify useful pages and improve weaker ones
- Diagnose errors and other technical faults
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Lake County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of case files or personal court information. It publishes reference material about records held by the Lake County Combined Court clerk, the Lake County District and County Courts, Leadville Municipal Court, and the Colorado docket system. Judicial Branch case-file access is governed by Chief Justice Directive 05-01; the Colorado Open Records Act applies to many county administrative records instead. We do not assemble visitor data into consumer reports and are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools. Their privacy terms, retention rules, and disclosure practices apply to information submitted through those boxes. We do not set those rules. Read the provider's policy before entering a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Colorado courts, the Lake County clerk, Leadville offices, legal-aid resources, or third-party services. The destination's privacy policy controls after leaving this website. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for ad selection. We do not operate that tracking infrastructure.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used for information within our control. No internet service is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or another breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is identified, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Colorado and federal privacy or consumer-protection law may provide rights over personal data. Court-record access rights are separate and follow CJD 05-01, while county administrative-record access follows CORA. For information held by this website, a person may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
